Starting September 22, 2004, Earth & Beyond will no longer be in service. After an amazing two years of galactic adventure, Electronic Arts has made the decision to close Earth & Beyond in order to focus resources on future games.

It was sad when that game ended three years ago. We were told in March that the game would end in September. Dibrle lost no time searching for the game that we three could play. In fact, I believe Dibrle generously purchased the game and disseminated same at lunch in New Orleans to oldma and myself. The Awesome Triumvirate continued.

To be accurate, we knew each other before Earth & Beyond by many years. I first met Dibrle in the Drama Club in High School in 1967. It wasn't long before I was hitching rides with him toward his home. Frankly, we went to school in uptown New Orleans, he lived along the lakefront in New Orleans and I lived downtown in New Orleans. Riding with Dibrle was not "on the way" home. It was mostly out of the way. That didn't discourage me.
(It was 7-8 miles from DLS to Dibrle's  home by Lake Ponchartrain.) 

Dibrle was an intelligent and fun guy to be with. He drove an old station wagon that smelled like a roach that had been executed at dawn...his vehicle was formerly a pest control vehicle. I had no car and frankly I had few friends. I wanted to be part of the crowd that surrounded Dibrle. And, there was a crowd. We would all pile in and with judicious down shifting and sometimes a push we got going on our way. The trip varied and was not direct. We often meandered past the high school of his wife to be and picked her up. 

That also included her younger sister with whom I became smitten. Dibrle also was a fine musician and had his own band. He made a place for me. I had no real musical talent, but I was large. I made a good intimidator-protector person who could also pick up heavy objects. We double dated with the two sisters. Dibrle always knew how to have fun. I liked being with him. We graduated in May of 1968.

I immediately enrolled in classes that summer of 1968 at the University of New Orleans. After completing the summer session, I had a life changing experience. I climbed a tree at my dad's farm and fell 10' breaking my back becoming paralyzed from the waist down. I was a fairly powerful young person (18 yrs old; 6' 1" 215 lbs.) I could run like the wind for short distances as that was all that I was required to do as a lineman in football.

This was a crisis in my life. Dibrle and the band remained faithful to me in every way. And, the two sisters and he did visit me regularly in hospital for over 3 months. Within one year of my accident, I returned to UNO to resume classes in a wheelchair graduating to forearm crutches within 6 months. In August of 1973 I received my BA in political science.

By this time, Dibrle had married one of those sisters and had moved away about 100 miles to LAW SCHOOL. I remember fondly those days as I rode a bus to visit them and they would pick me up at the bus depot. They were struggling and so was I, but we were very happy. I'm not sure we knew it then. I know it now.

Our friendship has remained constant over the years. He and his lovely wife have always exhibited the highest level of loyalty and fidelity as could be expected of people with high integrity who know how to love people. 

As I got to know Dibrle, I met his brother, oldma. 

We became friends as we played Earth and Beyond
as I submitted to his leadership in that game.

We three spent enumerable hours playing E&B, talking on the phone, having lunch each week and just simply having a blast! Then E&B ended, but the beat goes on!

We considered many names. I even considered HHH Corporation as our last names begin with a "H". That was silly. I can't recall how but we agreed upon AWE as our guild in E&B. AWE stood for Ascendant Warrior Elite. That name transferred over to EvE and AWE Corporation [AWECO] was born.

We struggled in empire doing foolish things. I had created a char, messed it up and started over again. Then I messed up even more neglecting learning skills. I even used projectile weapons on a Caldari missile boat. DUH!

We desired to go to 0.0 Oldma scouted south and was podded. At the same time, I did some research and sent messages out. Oddly, using two separate approaches led us to the XETIC FEDERATION (biggest alliance) and we joined CDSV or Caldari Deep Space Ventures.
